Quite often farmers ask us  whether stripping technology for harvesting really allows you to accumulate snow cover on the field without additional costs and creates favorable conditions for providing the fertile layer with moisture.

Your friends from Kazakhstan (Belozerka-2030 LLP, Kostanay region) give the answer. They compare the height of the snow cover after harvesting with a traditional header and a stripper header “Slavyanka UAS”: the difference is 60 mm in favor of the stripper technology, and this is additional ground moisture during the growing season of plants.

You know that soil moisture is one of the factors of plant fertility and productivity, and effective ways to provide it are of great importance for arid regions. Water in the soil affects:

• crop yield, timing of field work;
• soil formation processes, temperature and heat capacity, structure, plasticity and density of the soil;
